Submersible/Immersible Pumps

Industry’s Best Submersible/Immersible Pumps

A submersible pump is a pump that can be completely submerged in the fluid to be pumped. The key advantage of a submersible pump is the prevention of pump cavitation, which can occur with a high elevation difference between the pump and the fluid surface. When the pressure at the pump inlet drops below the vapor pressure of the liquid, bubbles form in the liquid. If these bubbles collapse when they reach the high-pressure region of the pump, they can cause damage to the pump. By using a submersible pump, the risk of cavitation is minimized.

Submersible pumps push liquid to the surface rather than pulling it up, providing more efficient pumping action.

Submersible pumps can be used for draining and for pumping sewage, industrial applications and slurry. They are also used for water extraction in boreholes, wells and irrigation systems.

There is a large selection of submersible/immersible pumps to choose from, and choosing the right pump for your needs is critical. If you are not sure which pump is best for your needs, consult with one of Kirkwood’s pump specialists.

Kirkwood Pumps and Process is proud to partner with the leading submersible/immersible pump manufacturers in the industry, GPM-Eliminator, Hayward Gordon, and HOMA, to offer a large selection of slurry pumps.
